Grounding

Whenever my thoughts trespass into my traumatic past I practice grounding.
I take a walk and take note of my simple surroundings and recite them to myself. Blue sky. white flower with yellow center.
Cracks in the sidewalk. Metal mailbox. You get the idea. Grounding brings me into the present. Over time those trauma thoughts evaporate like morning dew. Easy as a-b-c.
